21st Century Huna™ Spiritual Empowerment
This is a reminder that there is still time to register for the upcoming 21st Century Huna™: Spiritual Empowerment weekend which I am facilitating virtually on ZOOM on the days of Saturday and Sunday, July 29 and 30. Contact me here if you feel called to participate. Imagine; you can sit in your garden or by the pool, if you so choose, to join me on that weekend!
Back in the early 1990’s I read a book by Dan Millman, The Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior. It related his spiritual learnings through the teachings of a female Kahuna in Hawaii. I loved the book; it was deep and it was magical. Little did I know that, 5 years later, I would find myself on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1997 for my first entry into learning the ancient Hawaiian philosophy of Huna. I started out as a novice student and 5 years later was invited to become one of the teachers for the school - the halau - I was studying at. I met people from all over the world who were intuitively called to Hawaii to discover more about themselves. Over the years, I made 22 trips to Hawaii. I believe now that those trips were preparing me - unknowingly - to navigate the times we are now living in, so that I can share what is possible with others who are looking to make sense of their worlds.
The study of Huna did that for me; it made sense for me of my world. I discovered that it’s not complicated, but rather elegantly simple. The spirit of aloha underpins its fierce grace and compassion brought to life.
What I discovered in myself was the essential power I have to manifest my life… like the world that I would unintentionally create by focusing on what I did not want, instead of focusing on creating what I said I wanted. It was as though I was keeping my sights on my past, walking back first into the future. That was a huge awakening. I started to see the underlying intelligence of it all. It meant looking at my unwanted results directly in the eye and owning the truth of my ‘failure’ denied, now self-validated and dissolved. I discovered that I was saying ‘no’ to what I did not believe I could say ‘yes’ to, and ‘yes’ to much that I believed was ‘expected’ of me, when an honest ‘no’ would have saved me a lot of grief.
I discovered the alchemy of the elements and the power of breath when invited and allowed to fully saturate the body for healing - not as a strategy, as breathing exercises are so often taught - but as a state of being, upon which the unique essence of whom I am rides, 24/7, 365 days a year, year in and year out. No breath, no life.
I discovered that I am not my body, my body is a device that digests and metabolizes energy and information, all kinds of it. AND, I discovered the practical magic of living that comes with intending to evolve for its own sake and attending to what presents, so that we learn to embrace that life is happening FOR us, not TO us.
So, if you are a woman, a healer, a coach, and/or a spiritual mentor (personally, I think women are all of these things and more), you might just love engaging this ancient ‘science’ of being, expressed in a current day reality of your own making.
It’s time! Join me for the upcoming 21st Century Huna™: Spiritual Empowerment weekend. Questions? Connect with me to find out more and to register.
