Context, Process and Outcome
You may or may not know that my passion is to facilitate multi-day intensives for women that they might discover and bring to consciousness the potency of living by context, process and outcome. Not something I believe that most people think about. Still, whether we consciously think about it or not, we move through our worlds in this way, in every moment. The question then becomes how many of us have ever given conscious thought to the meaning of our lives?
Given that, in the world over, we have been culturally conditioned to believe that we are small and puny - ensuring compliance to the status quo, whatever that is for each of us - finding greater meaning inside the constructs of puny and small falls into futility. Try as we may to leap into the dream of an emerging future, still we continue to fall back into what we already know; it feels safe and familiar.
There is another way to think about our lives. All meaning is context dependent. So, changing the framework for whom you really are IS, as far as I am concerned, the only way to change the meaning of your life. If you think that you are your body, you’ll get results that reflect that thinking. And, if you change your mind to consciously choose to believe that whom you are is way orders of magnitude beyond your body, then you’ll get results that reflect that thinking.
The former will result in same old, same old… the endless repetition of what you tolerate, yet can no longer stand, supplying only incremental changes to a life you have grown weary of.
The latter will result in quantum leaps that will propel your experience of life forward into an emerging future which honours the fidelity of ‘I don’t know’, yet ‘I am willing’; finally, LOL, a ‘right’ answer. We have not been taught to hold as a truth that it is OK to not know. Perhaps, the only thing we do know is the truth of an inner call that draws us forward into the immediacy of the unknown, so that we let ourselves honour that we really DO KNOW.
I have been a master student of the ancient Hawaiian philosophy of Huna for 25 years, among other areas of experience to design my life in concert with the signal of Self that I AM. I grok within my cells that I AM my own higher Self, that I AM a spiritual being, expressing into a physical world through the resource of my body and it’s tissues. My Higher Self is not some talisman that I pull down from a shelf, whenever I find myself in a mess, not knowing what to do about it. You know we have all done it; we never pray to the unseen, except when we are in a jam. If you only reach for the force of whom you already are when you are scared or outraged or embarrassed, then you have forgotten, denied and avoided whom you really are. You are not a representation of the force decorating a shelf in wait of a request; you are the force itself.
When the unknown, unseen essence that I AM is allowed to flow into my external world, consciously chosen, my life knows a much deeper, richer expression through the gateway of my body. It is about redefining what resistance means to me and choosing to let it go. First, I must accept that I am more than I have been culturally conditioned to become.
In spite of the systems we live in, I believe we can choose the ways we want to live. What if we really can have the lives we say we want to have? What if we really can heal our bodies.? What if we really can heal the relationships we have to everyone and everything in our lives? Can we trust that we have everything we need to live meaningful and sustainable lives inside, where we live?
What would happen to our lives if we were to choose to live fully at cause for the unfolding of our lives - the good and the bad - letting go of all fault and blame? First we must change our frames, our assumptions for living. Asking yourself, What is a human being? and Who AM I, if I AM not my body? will start the process of reclaiming the godForce you are and have always been.
Committing to this simple shift in context for our lives will shatter the trance of compliance we have been programmed into, generation through generation through generation.
It is never too late. Each one of us is the context for our own unique life. Life is a continuous process of asking bigger, more compelling questions and choosing and changing your mind. That IS how we manifest meaningful lives… and, ultimately, meaningful worlds.
Context, process and outcome. Simple as that. There is magic in it all.
